Biography

Born in a musician's family in the former Yugoslavia. Aleksandar began playing classical guitar in 1982,at age 6. From 1988 to 1991 he achieved remarkable results in various guitar competitions all over Yugoslavia. At age 13, he became interested in the fusion of acoustic and electric guitar, and started his first band, Jetliner. Aleksandar recorded two albums with Jetliner, then formed a new band, Od iskona, which specialized in ethnic music of the Balkans. A later band Combo recorded an album entitled "CoolFusion" and toured Yugoslavia. After the war in 1999, Aleksandar opened his own recording “RARE” studio and recorded his latest project "Lucida Intervalla".

Rakich shows a strong interest in jazz,ethnic & neo-classical music, and is determined to take the style to a higher level, using his family tradition, experience and guitar.

Since the year 2003. he toured with a Balkan pop-star Boris Rezak, played a great number of concerts, published two albums with him, won awards at prestigious festivals in Serbia,Turkey, Croatia, Bosnia and Belorussia.
